Bermuda - more family pics

Some more wonderful family photos.

Bermuda Day 7

Happy Birthday Thomas and Zach! We had a train ride around town to celebrate the birthdays followed by pizza and cake back at the house. A great success!

Then grandpa and Matt took Ben fishing. Nothing was caught but Ben declared that it was his most favorite part of the day.

Phil and I had dinner out to celebrate our anniversary at Blu restaurant. Catch of the day was mahi mahi so that was definitely what I would have - it was so good. It was followed by a lemon soufflé - wow! I'm going to have to try and replicate that.

Tomorrow is our last full day. I can't believe it's coming to an end so soon. Phil and I are heading off to St. George's for some sightseeing and shopping tomorrow. Our last trip to St. George's saw a re-enactment of a dunking for the serious crime of being a nag and a gossip!

Bermuda Day 6

Today was a trip to Dockyards and Mini Golf.  It was the most amazing course. The first 6 holes were fashioned from some of the best in Bermuda, holes 7 - 12 were modeled after famous US courses such as Sawgrass and Pebble Beach and the last 6 around St. Andrews, including having to shoot around the famous clubhouse (see pic) built with a white Bermuda roof! The ocean views - 2nd to none.

Dinner tonight was fish tacos with fish caught by Phil (see yesterday) with pineapple salsa - one of Matt's specialties.

Tomorrow it's the birthday train for Zach and Thomas followed by cake and pizza.

This wonderful week is flying by way too fast

Bermuda Day 5

Another glorious day in Bermuda. The major activities for today were golfing and fishing. Matt and I headed off to Tuckers Point for a round of golf. It's such a pretty course with spectacular ocean views, especially on the back 9. Fairways are pretty wide and open with lots of hills and elevated greens. Learned a new trick for putting from a course regular. With Bermuda grass greens, look at the hole and one side will be sharp and one side a bit furry. Aim for the sharp side as the green will break away from the furry side! It worked!!!

Phil went offshore fishing. He was out the door at 5:00am and off the water at 4:00pm so one tired fisherman tonight. He had a great day as they caught multiple tuna (black fin and yellowtail), Mahi-mahi, wahoo and a shark! See pics below.

Tomorrow it's off to Docklands (perhaps some mini golf with the boys) and St. George's.

Bermuda Day 4

Today was the day for spas and fishing.  The ladies spent a very relaxing few hours at the Southampton Princess getting massages / facial and pedicures followed by lunch.  Phil had an excellent fishing trip and caught a Hogsfish and one other (name forgotten!).  Can't have a day in Bermuda without some pool time so we managed to squeeze in a few hours with the boys - even I went in the pool.

There are a couple of things special to Bermuda.  Moongates have been seen in Bermuda since the 19th century.  They are round openings into gardens or pathways.  It is good luck for newlyweds to walk through a Moongate - fitting for today as its our 19th anniversary.

Also special to Bermuda are Bermuda Onions.  There are several chairs scattered around which are modelled after this famous veggie.

More fishing and golf tomorrow :)

Bermuda Day 3

The theme for today was Happy Mother's Day.  Thanks to the boys for the card for Grandma and the hand cream :). We spent the morning at the beach at Tucker's but unfortunately got driven off by some rain.  We had a lovely lunch at the resort (gluten free club sandwich!) and then back to the house for some pool time before a Mothers Day Bar-b-q with the largest bouncy castle ever!  Another full and fun day.  Fishing tomorrow for Phil and a spa day for the ladies!

Bermuda Day 2

The weather didn't disappoint today and the sun arrived for a lovely Bermuda day.  We started out this morning at the aquarium and then home for some pool time.  We headed back into town for some ice cream and shopping before heading home for the evening.  The boys all had fun - an excellent day all around.  It's off to Tucker's for some beach time tomorrow morning and then a Mothers Day bar-b-q.

Bermuda - Day 1

We all arrived safely in Bermuda today to overcast and rainy skies.  Suzy's house and property is amazing.  It's lovely to have the 4 boys all together and they've had a great afternoon running and playing.  A bit of rain doesn't slow down a pre-schooler!
